news you can use #13: breast milk cheese, old people, driving and your cha chi, green toilets, models i know, eclipse trailer, and sweet layla grace

can you believe it?  this is news you can use lucky #13.  wow, i can't believe we've been doing this for 13 weeks now.  and by "we," i really mean "i."  enjoy some of the highlights of the weeks; there are some real goodies in here.

new york city chef creates breast milk cheese.  disgusted?  yeah, me too.  you can check out the recipe here.  ugh.  let me know how you like it.

{feast your eyes on this: "mommy's milk cheese rolled in dehydrated porcini mushroom powder with burned onion chutney."  i don't understand 3/4 of those words.}

oldest u.s. woman dies at age 114 year, 294 days.  i want to live until i'm 112 and still be healthy.  i'll let you know how that works out.  i'm sure i'll totes still be blogging.  you can check out all things old people here.

{isn't mary josephine ray just as cute as a damn button?!  here she is at her 111th birthday party.}

don't drink shave your cha chi and drive.  this little gem is brought to you courtesy of none other than mrs. tinseltown herself, hotpantsTM at handbags and handguns.  she down with the celebrity gossip and is your go-to girl on all things oscar worthy.   you can thank jessalyn for the new urban vocabulary word of the day: "cha chi."  i still prefer pikachu, but i'm all for spicing things up around these parts.  this lady apparently had places to go and wanted to make sure she was nice and "tidy."  i just threw up in my mouth.

{stay classy.}

the no-mix toilet.  men, how far are you willing to go to save the planet?  are you willing to sit down to pee, rather than standing if it means you are being environmentally conscious?  ladies, are you tired of fighting the perverbial "i-told-you-to-put-down-that-damn-toilet-seat!"  men and women alike, if your answer is "yes" then boy have i got the toilet for you!  per this article, "this toilet separates urine and poo-poo at the source.  the nutrients in urine can be then recycled for such purposes as fertilizer.  and the other sewage can then be transported to waste treatment facilities where actually can be used to produce power rather than consume it.  the problem is that some people might not like the new toilet.  for men it means sitting down, not standing.  and apparently the toilets are more prone to blockages.  nevertheless, scientists are reporting that europeans seem amenable to the new toilets."  those damn europeans are so freaking trendy.

{you would totes be the coolest house on the block with this sucker.}

i know someone on america's next top model (!!!)  i don't usually watch this show, but i was flipping through the channels last night and this girl i knew back in college is on this season.  i feel famous.  she's from kerrville, texas and she is an ex-boyfriend's sister's best friend.  she was a couple years younger than me, but she'd hang out with my boyfriend's little sister so we'd hang out all together.  she's considered a "plus-sized" model and is one of those girls that looks gorgeous with absolutely zero makeup.

twilight eclipse trailer.  ahhhh!  the trailer's out and i'm so stoked for the movie.  okay, i'll admit, i'm totally down with the vamps.  you can watch the full trailer here.

{my best friends forever.}

sweet layla grace.  precious little layla grace lost her battle with stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer early tuesday morning.  she was 2 years old.  many of you have probably already heard of her as her short life captured the hearts of many.  this precious life had a huge following on both her blog and twitter account and the outpouring of love and prayers has been amazing to see.  her family lives in one of houston's suburbs (the same suburb my parents live, actually).  please continue to pray for her family - her parents and her two sisters.

I don't mind sitting I would be all for lobbying to make these new toilets standard for new houses.

I do not want to live to be 70 at this point let alone 112, that just has no appeal.

I heard about layla sad story :(.

I have no idea how a woman could shave there and drive. I mean, not water? Painful! And bizarre.

Breast milk cheese...vomit. Who eats that? Is it for foodie babies or something?

I liked the girl you know on ANTM! I hope she goes far...she seemed very nice. Although I really don't think she should be considered plus sized.

I'm so sad to hear about Layla, what a little angel. :(

That old lady's picture is so precious.

That toilet freaks me out but if it has spray on the back and a vent system I'm all about it!

I'm glad you said that was burnt onion chutney or whatever next to the breast cheese because I thought it was a doo doo kiss. BLECH!

Excellent reporting girl!!! ox

I have seriously been trying to get the hubs to sit while peeing for YEARS, just so there wouldn't be such a mess around the toilet. Unsuccessful.

And maybe she was using an electric razer or one of those epilady thingys. She makes me sad.

Did you see Apollo on GMA. Noticed something that might be a deal breaker. More on this later.

You know Alexandra!?!? I am a HUGE Top Model fan (guilty pleasure) and she is just gorgeous. How cool! And if she's plus sized, then I am morbidly obese.

I just vommed in my mouth a little over that cheese.

I'm so glad you bring me my news, complete with pictures. I don't watch the actual news so I need to stay up on current events somehow...for that I thank you!

I was watching Top Model last night! Which girl is it? One of the final 12?

And I'll def pass on the breast milk!

Um, the breast milk cheese made me gag. I think I'll pass on that. And remind me to never give my va jay jay a trim while driving. Maybe the lady should try taking care of her roots while driving next time.

I kid I kid.

Amanda @ It's Blogworthy said...

Ok, I obvi don't need to go anywhere else for my news. Nope, just you and US Weekly (sorry, cant' give it up).

I'm trying to figure out the logistics of shaving your cha chi and drinking at the same time...it's not a pretty mental picture. Ps nice roots lady.

At least I'm skinny said...

That brown thing in the cheese photo looks like a tiny mound of dookie.

I was considering watching ANTM because it makes me feel fat. Do you know the stats on the girl you know? Is she like 5'10 140 and a plus size model? Makes me sick and vagina shaving while driving and breast milk cheese. Thanks!

Tricia said...

Get this. My friend just called me this morning to tell me that an ex (and baby momma) of a guy we know is a contestant on ANTM. The girl is crazy. CRAZY. It should make for good viewing times. I sure hope we aren't talking about the same girl, cause if so I just called some girl you know crazy. Oops.

Also, we have a lot of friends in common with Layla's family. We don't personally know them, but so many of our friends do. I have been following her story since the day she was diagnosed, because I found out through a joint friend. Such a sad story. Certainly gives me perspective.

I def threw up in my mouth with that breast milk cheese. Like, really, how disturbed are you to eat that shit?!

Breast milk cheese? Seriously? That's just nast!

I love Twilight and loved the trailer this morning.

I'm sorry to hear about Layla Grace.

ScoMan said...

I laughed at the breast milk cheese.. and then threw up a little.

And I laughed at the shaving on the run.. and then threw up a little.

And I was happy for your knowing someone quasi-famous.

And then it ended on a sad note. And none of that other stuff mattered. Poor Layla Grace.

Awwwwww... so sad about the little nugget! I will definitely say a prayer for her family. Such a heartbreaking thing when a baby's life is taken way too early.

And I'm really stoked about Eclipse too! I feel like I should go back and read the book again before the movie comes out... just to refresh! I'm already planning to take June 30th off! ;)

Breast milk cheese? Hmmmm. I might have to try it before I knock it. I mean, the thought does make me feel a little ill.

Shaving and driving is never a good idea... especially when it's so close to your goods!

Perpetual Prep said...

I love cheese but will NEVER EVER eat something like that!!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha

Thank you for sharing the story about Layla Grace - I will pray for her dear family and sisters - God bless them!

When I had breast milk, I dared to taste it. It was surprisingly good and very sweet! I cannot imagine what it tastes like as cheese.

Layla's story brings me to tears.

I cannot imagine shaving my vag and driving. I'd be too afraid to cut myself down there.

I do not want to live that long...I just want to die before M, ha!

Sweet Layla, I'm praying for her family!

Ran across your blog through someone else I follow and it's so cute so I'm a new follower! The toilet thing and the shaving of the hoo-ha while driving cracks me up!!

Meg said...

I don't think I'd want to live past 101. But that little old lady sure is cute!

I'm peeved that they replaced the actress that played Victoria in those movies. Humph.

I'll be sending up a prayer and some thoughts for the family of Layla. So sad.

OneCraftyFox said...

Wait, what?! Another Twi movie??? No Mer, stay away from the dark side... lol. I couldn't take any more after the second book and the first movie was bad enough. *ducking down to avoid the lash from your wooden spoon*

Unknown said...

I heard a bit about that breast milk cheese yesterday and it made me nauseous! EWWWW!

And the next Twihard movie?! I'm all about it. I wish all we bloggy Twihards could meet in some city and go together---I don't know how I'll wait until June. Ugh.

And that toilet? I'm speechless.

People in this world never fail to astonish me, and I don't know why. I should be desensitized to things like breast milk cheese by now, but never in my life would I have ever thought I'd put those words together in a sentence til just now.

Breast milk cheese is disgusting lol I saw that on the Today show. Who would ever come up with such a thing?

The little old lady is too cute! I'd like to live that long :-)

Poor Layla :-( I'm so sad to hear she lost her battle. She's an angel now though.

*Layla* :(

And you were totes already famous in my eyes. You don't need no stinkin' model for the famies.

I'm so sad to hear about Layla Grace!

That 114 year old lady sure looked spunky in that picture. I am glad she lived a long life. I'd like it too if I was healthy!

Well the Europeans are the ones with the bidet. They are all over that loo-hygiene!

And I had heard about the breast milk thing. I mean, whatever floats your nipple...I just don't think it's for me. But then I had eaten about 5 "lamb fries" before Mom finally fessed up and admitted they weren't chicken nuggets. Maybe we would never know?

I had heard about Layla Grace, but didn't know she had passed away. That's incredibly sad and I'm sure her family is beyond consolable. I just can't even begin to imagine...

Thanks for keeping me in the loop! ;)

Breast milk cheese? Barf.

I do not want to live to 114 yrs old. Could you imagine? Suicide.

I love the word cha chi, however pikachu is hilarious too! Who would think to put off shaving their cha pikachu until they were driving in the car? Only a drunk ass I guess. Bizarre.

Can't say we'd be interested in a toilet that is "prone to blockages". We have enough issues with regular toilets as it is. Plus there's no way my hubs would be willing to sit. My ex however wouldn't have a problem with that at all. Strange ex to say the least.

I can't wait for Eclipse! It was my favorite book out of the series! Just by what I saw in the clip, I'm a little disappointed that they made Bella look ugly in some of the scenes that was shown. Sads.

I didn't know about Layla Grace until after she was already gone. Such a sad story. She looks so cute in that picture. My heart goes out to her family. ((Hugs)) to them.
