any of you near and dear to me wondering why i've been M.I.A.? no? okay, fine. wishful thinking on my part. for those of you not wondering, i'm going to tell you anyways. lucky you. friday night, i hung out with a couple of my best friends from college. my friend, sara, was cooking dinner for a few of us - and being the greatest best friend that i am - i offered to help her with the chicken. chicken is one of the few things i'm good at cooking. i was handling raw chicken meat and thought i washed my hands very thoroughly because i'm so obsessive-compulsive about washing my hands. still, they obviously were not washed thoroughly enough...
i have had salmonella food poisoning and am still getting over it. let's just say i woke up yesterday morning having an asthma attack and had a low-grade fever... shortly there after i began projectile linda blair exorcist style vomiting all.freaking.day. i didn't even know there was that many fluids in the human body. it was gross. i ended up having to go to the ER last night because my fever was really high and would go down and i couldn't keep any liquids down. slowly but surely i'm getting better and i'll be back in the blogosphere in no time!

That's terrible! I actually WAS wondering where you were, missy! I would say look on the bright side - you'll lose weight! Except you losing weight would put you at negative toothpick stature! If that makes any sense. Haha.

anywho- i hope you feel better!! i had it a few years back and it was the sickest i have ever been in my life. and just a warning to you- after i finally got over the horrible poisoning, i got a really bad cold because my system was so run down- so stay away from germs for a few days!

I actually was wondering where you have been! I always look forward to reading your blog :-) I knew you had to have a good reason to be gone though. I'm so sorry you're sick!! I had food poisoning from chicken at subway last year so I know how you feel about the vomitting. DIS-gust-ing to say the least. Get better asap miss! We miss you about the blogsphere!

While I am really sorry that you're feeling so awful, I'm also really freaked out about all the freeballing I've done with chicken lately. I mean, it's frozen, but still..wash hands? Nah...it's covered in ice crystals it's fine. Oh I touched chicken juices..but just for a sec...I'll just run my hands under water real quick. NO MORE!!! I've just morphed into Monk. GAH!!!! I appreciate the PSA. So does my husband who can't deal with hearing me puke.

I WAS wondering where you were. I figured you were busy with work.
I got food poisoning once when I worked at Subway. A co-worker didn't wash his hands properly after going to the bathroom....or that's what we all decided anyway. After I was done being the sickest I've ever been I had to go to the hospital and give a stool sample. All the employees did, which is why we assumed someone didn't wash their hands after poopy time. I would never ever wish food poisoning on anyone. Except Hitler. I wanted to die. Die. It was hell.
Ugh. That really, really sucks!!! Did anyone else get sick?

during my cousin's baby shower i kept dipping my bread in this yummy dip my aunt made. turned out it wasn't dip. it was the marinate sauce for the raw chicken that was soaking in it which i happened to not see (i blame the sangria). luckily i didn't get sick. thank goodness!

That's terrible! I had some horrible food poisoning a few weeks ago (though not nearly as bad as yours, I think). I hope your recovery is quick.
